I am happy to announce the return of the Babyfur.ME community. I started the site 2011 to fill a missing need in the community. It's rebirth in 2024 is coming at a time when that is far less necessary. This is a good thing! I have been so happy to watch the community grow and hope that Babyfur.ME played some small role in strengthening the community when it was around last.
Many of you might be asking why Babfur.ME shut down so abruptly. There are several reasons why and it’s not entirely worth discussing them all, but the most egregious of them was some selfishness. I was at a point in my own life where I needed to start to find success, and I started to build a career and devoted all of my energy to that. With some recent competition in the space having started up, I erroneously assumed that was justification enough to shut down and walk away. I do in fact regret that I let some folks down, but I also know that nobody is perfect.
I have always had the best intention to give back all that I am able to give to the community that shaped my character, in more ways than one. We all make mistakes, and to those I let down, I am truly sorry. However, I want to give back to the community again and I am going to do it the way I know best.
Having good intentions is not enough. So, my promise to the community is that there will be succession rather than abandonment should I decide to step away from Babyfur.ME this time around. That said, I have no intention to walk away this time.
Today there are so many ways for our community to connect, but I strongly believe that there is still a place for a dedicated babyfur social network. Babyfur.ME is back and our mission statement remains as it was, "To unite babyfur’s from all over the globe, providing a common interest group forum tailored toward providing a safe, secure and protected medium for members of that interest group to express those interests and communicate with others who share those interests.". In my heart, this is still a worthy cause.
The site is being reborn anew since as part of the privacy agreement, the old Babyfur.ME data was destroyed.
